Part 3: Tax considerations when buying or selling a Supply Chain or Logistics Business (24 Sep 2026)

This is the third webinar in a three-part legal series designed to equip supply chain and logistics businesses with timely, practical legal insights — from the fast-evolving landscape of privacy and surveillance compliance, to major employment law reforms reshaping workforce obligations, to the tax complexities of buying or selling a business.

PART 3: TAX CONSIDERATIONS WHEN BUYING OR SELLING A SUPPLY CHAIN OR LOGISTICS BUSINESS

Here's what you need to know.

This webinar is best suited to senior decision-makers and specialists involved in buying, selling, or structuring deals within the supply chain and logistics sector. This includes CEOs, managing directors, business owners and investors, as well as CFOs, finance leaders and tax professionals who assess the financial impact of transactions. It is also highly relevant for legal, compliance and operations leaders — particularly those managing asset-heavy fleets or complex contractor arrangements — who need to understand how tax considerations can materially affect deal value and risk.

Date: Thursday, 24 September 2026
Time: 11.30am - 12.30pm
Venue: Online
Cost: No charge

Registrations close at COB on Wednesday, 23 September 2026

ABOUT THIS EVENT

Finalising the purchase or sale of a logistics, transport, warehousing, or supply chain services business often reveals a confronting truth: the tax consequences specific to this industry may not have been fully considered during negotiations. With thin margins, asset heavy operations, and complex contractor and fleet arrangements, overlooking tax implications can materially change the value of the deal.

In this session, Tamara Cardan, Special Counsel from Rigby Cooke Lawyers’ Corporate & Commercial and Tax practices, explores the critical taxation considerations and implications when acquiring or disposing of a business within the supply chain and logistics sector.

WEBINAR: The Inventory Tightrope. 29 September 2026 (29 Sep 2026)

THE INVENTORY TIGHTROPE:
CUTTING WORKING CAPITAL WITHOUT CUTTING SERVICE LEVELS

Margins are under pressure from every direction. But cutting inventory across the board can create bigger problems: stockouts, lost sales, and service failures.

Join Slimstock to learn how risk-based segmentation, dynamic safety stock, and smarter service-level planning can help you free up working capital without compromising customer service.

Date: Tuesday, 29 September 2026
Time: 11.00am to 12noon (AEST)
Venue: Online via Zoom
Cost: No charge

Registrations close at COB on Sunday, 27 September
REGISTER HERE

ABOUT THIS EVENT

Rising costs. Soft demand. Margin under pressure from every direction. Most companies respond by cutting inventory across the board and pay for it in stockouts, lost sales, and frustrated customers.

There's a better way. Join Slimstock for a live session on precision inventory management: how to identify exactly where to hold stock and where to release cash, without gambling on service levels.

You'll learn how to:

Segment inventory by risk and value instead of cutting everything equally

Set dynamic safety stock and service levels by SKU and account tier

Free up working capital while protecting or improving customer service

Avoid the hidden costs of blanket inventory reduction

See real results from a company that released significant working capital without sacrificing service, using Slim4's demand and inventory planning platform.

Walk away with a practical framework you can apply immediately.

REAL ROI: A PRACTICAL CONVERSATION ON AI IN SUPPLY CHAIN

Expectations for AI in the supply chain run high, yet there is little clarity about what the successful projects did differently. Four panellists from Australian manufacturing and IT solutions providers discuss data challenges, trust and security, practical tools, and governance — and where AI genuinely pays off. Networking with industry practitioners and light refreshments follow the panel.

Date: Thursday 8 October 2026
Time: 6.00pm - 8.30pm (AEST)
Venue: Minerva Partners, Level 18, Suite 1/60 Albert Road, South Melbourne
Cost: Members - $15 / Non-Members - $30

Registrations close at COB on Tuesday, 6 October 2026
LIMITED PLACES AVAILABLE

ABOUT THIS EVENT

This ASCLA thought leadership event brings together four panellists from Australian manufacturing and IT solutions providers for a candid, jargon-free discussion about what works.

The panel covers four areas that commonly derail AI initiatives: AI awareness and data challenges, where information sits trapped across disconnected applications; trust, security and uptake, including hallucination risk, data privacy and workforce resistance; practical AI tools already in use for writing, meetings and customer support; and data risks and governance, covering ownership, accountability and review cadence.

Attendees will leave with a clearer view of where AI genuinely pays off, how to map risk tiers before shortlisting solutions, and what to ask before committing budget. Networking with industry practitioners follows, with light refreshments provided.

PRESENTERS

LIMITED PLACES AVAILABLE

ABOUT THIS EVENT

Peak periods expose the strengths and weaknesses of a retail supply chain. As order volumes, SKU complexity and customer expectations rise, retailers need more than extra labour or last-minute firefighting.

This webinar brings together experienced retail and logistics leaders to explore how intralogistics, warehouse processes and operational discipline can work together to deliver a reliable peak. We will discuss practical approaches to demand and capacity planning, inventory positioning, slotting, labour and shift planning, flow optimisation, automation and real-time performance management.

Attendees will leave with a practical peak-readiness checklist and ideas for improving service, productivity and resilience without defaulting to major capital investment.

ABOUT THIS EVENT

Customers, Carriers & Suppliers — On the Docks

Join the Mobiledock team for an egg and bacon breakfast roll at the Port of Melbourne, alongside customers, carriers and suppliers from across the network. Come for the food, stay for a candid chat about what makes freight scheduling easier — or harder — day to day.

For years, scheduling improvements have mostly focused on the customer side of the booking screen. This morning we widen the lens: getting freight in and out on time depends just as much on the carriers and suppliers living with our system every day as it does on the site running the calendar.

We want to hear directly from you.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This morning is for anyone whose day is shaped by a dock booking — because so much of what makes freight scheduling work (or not) is created upstream and downstream of the site itself.

That includes Mobiledock customers, transport carriers and their schedulers, suppliers, and anyone responsible for getting freight in and out on time. Drivers and site-level staff are just as welcome as the operations leaders who shape the booking rules.

Registrations

All attendees must be registered prior to attending an ASCLA event, including ASCLA partners and guests attending on a complimentary or partner allocation.Registration helps ASCLA maintain accurate attendance records and manage venue capacity, catering and important safety and emergency requirements.
If you are attending under a partner or complimentary allocation, please ensure each attendee completes an individual registration.
If registrations have closed and you would still like to attend, please contact ASCLA before arriving at the event. Please do not attend without prior confirmation.
