The ASCLA NSW Vocational Innovation Centre (VIC) Site Tour and TAFE NSW will showcase how practical vocational education and employer partnerships can prepare young people for successful careers while helping organisations build their future workforce.

ABOUT THIS EVENT

ASCLA NSW, in collaboration with TAFE NSW and the Vocational Innovation Centre (VIC) at Seven Hills High School, will host an industry site tour focused on practical skills and pathways from school into employment.

Attendees will explore the Centre’s purpose-built, industry-standard training facilities and learn how vocational education is preparing students for apprenticeships, traineeships, employment, further training and higher education.

The event will also provide an opportunity to hear directly from employers, students and TAFE NSW representatives about job-ready skills, course content, workplace expectations and the role industry can play in developing future talent.

VIC provides specialist training facilities and innovative vocational curriculum pathways for students from more than 20 schools across Western Sydney.

Courses are delivered through partnerships involving schools, TAFE NSW, employers, business, industry associations and training providers.

Andrew Kerr - Deputy Principal - Skills and Pathways, Vocational Innovation Centre, Seven Hills High School
With 32 years of teaching experience, including 20 years in Vocational Education and Training (VET) within the Manufacturing and Engineering sector, Andrew Kerr has established a distinguished career in education. As Deputy Principal – Skills and Pathways at the Vocational Innovation Centre at Seven Hills High School, he oversees the organisation and delivery of the Vocational High Schools Pilot Program for the Department of Education. This unique partnership between schools, TAFE NSW and industry delivers school and TAFE delivered VET courses, showcasing the value of targeted support in students’ vocational journeys to post-school success.

Nadene Chivers - Vocational Education and Training, TAFE NSW
Nadene Chivers is an experienced Vocational Education and Training (VET) educator specialising in the supply chain, logistics, and international freight forwarding industries. With more than 15 years of experience in vocational education, she has successfully delivered industry-focused training across both private Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and, currently, TAFE NSW.
Passionate about promoting career pathways within these essential industries, Nadene is dedicated to raising awareness of the diverse opportunities available in supply chain and logistics. She is committed to inspiring, developing, and preparing the next generation of industry professionals by equipping learners with the practical skills, knowledge, and confidence required to succeed in a dynamic and evolving workforce.

Amanda Brazier - Strategic HR, Learning & Organisational Development, Jaybro
Amanda specialises in organisational capability, leadership development, talent management and employee engagement. She is passionate about building high-performing teams, developing future talent and creating workplace cultures where people can grow and succeed. Amanda is also committed to engaging with local communities and supporting young people to explore careers in supply chain and logistics, helping them discover the many pathways the industry has to offer.

Adam Cordukes - Head of Road Safety & Chain of Responsibility, Team Global Express
Adam leads national programs focused on heavy vehicle safety, compliance, driver wellbeing and operational risk management. With extensive experience across transport, logistics and road safety.
Adam works closely with operational teams across Australia to strengthen safety culture and deliver practical solutions that improve safety performance throughout the supply chain. He is passionate about developing future talent and creating pathways into the transport and logistics industry and actively supports partnerships between industry, schools and training providers to help students gain real-world experience, build practical skills and explore rewarding careers in one of Australian’s most essential industries.

Michael Farragher - Head Teacher for Supply Chain and Logistics, TAFE NSW
Michael is an accomplished supply chain and logistics leader with over 25 years of senior management experience across global FMCG operations in Europe and Australia. After a successful career overseeing large‑scale supply chain functions, he transitioned into Vocational Education and Training.
He leads the delivery of accredited qualifications from Certificate III to Advanced Diploma and is the National Lead of the ASCLA Mentoring Program. Michael’s industry contributions have been recognised through multiple awards, and he is a regular author of reports that influence contemporary supply chain practice. He remains deeply connected to industry needs, ensuring emerging workforce capabilities align with real‑world operational priorities.

- BEHIND THE SCENES OF AUSTRALIA'S BLOOD
SUPPLY CHAIN

This is a unique opportunity to see what happens behind the scenes in one of Australia’s most critical supply chains. Covering 17,500m2, the Melbourne Processing Centre (MPC) is the largest blood processing and testing facility in the Southern Hemisphere and accounts for almost half of the national blood supply. Participants will have the opportunity to see first-hand laboratories where life-saving blood and plasma donations are processed and tested, the distribution area that supplies blood products to south-east Australia and the primary workspace for Melbourne-based support teams.
