SITE TOUR AUSTRALIAN RED CROSS LIFEBLOOD - BEHIND THE SCENES OF AUSTRALIA'S BLOOD SUPPLY CHAIN
This is a unique opportunity to see what happens behind the scenes in one of Australia’s most critical supply chains. Covering 17,500m2, the Melbourne Processing Centre (MPC) is the largest blood processing and testing facility in the Southern Hemisphere and accounts for almost half of the national blood supply. Participants will have the opportunity to see first-hand laboratories where life-saving blood and plasma donations are processed and tested, the distribution area that supplies blood products to south-east Australia and the primary workspace for Melbourne-based support teams.

Paid street parking is available however it can be limited. If driving, please allow additional time due to potential lack of parking availability.

The tour will go behind the scenes at MPC to give a unique insight into how the Manufacturing & Logistics function of Lifeblood manages the national blood supply chain, ensuring that life-saving blood and plasma donations are available when and where they are needed to provide life-changing outcomes for the Australian community. Topics to be covered include safety, quality, blood processing and testing, operations, logistics and the planning practises that provide Australians with a safe, trusted, and efficient supply of blood and biological products and services.
