PANELISTS

 

Dr Viet Huynh - Lecturer, School of Science, Edith Cowan University
Viet Huynh is a lecturer specializing in machine learning and AI. Before his tenure at ECU, he served as an associate research fellow at the PRaDA (now A2I2) centre at Deakin University and as a research fellow on the Machine Learning team at Monash University. He is dedicated to applying machine learning/AI methodologies to directly impact various domains, including healthcare, computational biology, cybersecurity, and manufacturing optimization.


 

Dirk Vorster - Solutions Architect, Bryant Park Consulting
Dirk brings nearly two decades of experience in business applications consulting, with a specialty in NetSuite solution architecture. Before his current role, he has served as a General Manager of an Australian manufacturer and distributor, where he led a full-scale digital transformation—implementing NetSuite ERP, CRM, and SuiteCommerce to streamline operations, improve visibility, and drive growth.



   

Associate Professor Martin Masek - School of Science, Edith Cowan University 
Martin obtained his PhD, focusing on medical image processing, in 2004 and joined Edith Cowan University in 2005. Externally funded projects over the past five years (funding in the range of $2M) have involved the application of artificial intelligence and image processing techniques to solve problems in a variety of domains such as health, education and defence. This has resulted in collaboration with partners such as Fiona Stanley Hospital, Thales Australia, The Defence Science Technology Group, CSIRO, Microsoft Research, The National Archives and The National Trust.

 

Hamish Johnston - Corporate Engagement Manager, Waalitj Foundation
Hamish is a strategic supply chain leader with over 20 years of experience in category management, logistics, and sourcing. He has a proven track record in mining, industrial, energy, and oil and gas sectors in Perth, focusing on sustainability and social impact. He has established a reputation for delivering innovative and forward-thinking Supply Chain solutions.

David Sutherland - SCLAA WA State President
David Sutherland is a logistics and supply chain leader with more than 25 years of experience spanning start-ups, national operations, and global corporations. He has delivered major improvements in warehousing, transport, and distribution, including building a greenfield distribution centre in Saudi Arabia and driving significant cost savings and efficiency gains for leading companies.
