CILTA WA and SCLAA
Please join CILT-A WA Section and SCLAA for our site visit to Perth Busport. This state of the art $209 million project opened in July 2016. The focus of this site visit will mainly be based on the airport-style "dynamic stand management system (DSMS)".
There are 160 seats, 16 Stands and 25 Layover Stands and is arguably one of the most technologically advanced bus stations in the world. It includes a dynamic stand allocation system, whereby passengers wait in a central lounge area for their stand to be displayed. The system then directs passengers to catch their bus from one of four stands once the bus is allocated. As we'll see on the tour it won't necessarily be the same stand each time.
The tour will include the concourse, passenger lounge, entries, door operating systems, fire and ventilation equipment. An overview of the software and hardware behind the sophisticated Dynamic Stand Management System will be given. Perth Busport also has more than 100 CCTV cameras, speed monitoring systems and intruder detection.
Duncan Ellis and Gary Merritt from Transperth have kindly agreed to accompany us on the tour and share their expert knowledge.
